Windows 7

Well it has been quite some time, as usual that I have not written on my blog…

I mainly wanted to tell you that I have made the progression onto windows 7 after toying with the idea for nearly 6 months.

With my bad experience in mind from testing vista in its beta stages I swung clear of this potential nightmare and waited for the retail version.

Being in IT I really did want to get to grasps with this new version before it got forced upon me in the office. All in all the transition was not quite so bad I was very impressed the only thing windows did not install was my sound card.. that was actually the major problem with Vista.

I have come across some bugs mainly my MSN messenger seems to crash every-time I boot, hopefully the uploaded reports with be worthwhile at some point, the best feature I am enjoying is the rotation of windows desktop backgrounds.

I have found MS have decided to put even more clicks in the way of getting to the actual screens where you can really configure your computer, but they may be a good idea, in terms of less chance noobs can find these very options I have to click more to get too!

I guess they just looked at why the mac’s are so popular and did something responsive with those findings. gz

I just added my 1TB Samsung hard drive which is an absolute steal at around £55 on Ebuyer. I noticed they are slowly stealing me over in terms of technology, my monitor, tv and now a hard drive!

I have completely become reliant on Kaspersky looking after my pc, its probably worth that extra money! AVG just got to big for its boots…

just a quick shout out to CCleaner! legend! if you want a program that keeps you ticking over between computers/upgrades and formats this is your tool.

I am also using Acronis, to keep my new windows partition safe, plus I would like to use it at home and feel confident, before the worst thing happens and our HK servers at work go down!
